Room # 2

jack "Legs" Diamond  Room

   Queen Bed
    Lake views

This cozy rooms overlooks Canadarago Lake and has a queen size bed.  In the days of Prohibition when things got too hot in Albany or New York, Jack "Legs" Diamond and his gangster friends would retreat to the relative obscurity of this upstate area making the Lake House its center of operation.  During this period,  two  rooms were added to the upstairs so that lookouts could watch the road from the north and south.  In the basement, evidence of false walls still exist and a recent renovation covered a trapdoor in the floor from the first floor to the basement.  Did they use it as an escape route or to just move liquor quickly?  We can only imagine.

Room # 3

       Captain John Room

     Queen Bed
      Lake views

This romantic lake view room has a great high four poster bed.  This area is rich in history.  In the early 1800's two Mohican Indians Captain John and his son lived not far from the Chamberlain farm. Captain John drowned when his canoe capsized on the lake and was buried by his son on the knoll opposite the Lake House.

Room # 4

A spacious two-level room perfect for a family or just for those who want a little more space.  The living room  was one of the original look-out rooms added in the 20's so that the Speak-Easy on the first floor would know if the "revenuers" were on their way to the Lake House.

The Grey Goose
